Cat hissing at her sister after vets

I've got two cats who are litter mates. One has recently spent a few days in the vets and now had to be crated for a couple of months due to a bad leg break.

The one who stayed at home is now hissing at the "ill" one every time she goes past the cage. It's as if she doesn't recognise her.

We've tried allowing them to sniff each other but no luck. Unfortunately we can't let them get in the crate together so this is all done through the bars of kitty prison. Previously they were always so close and inseparable.

Any ideas or do we just let them sort it out?

Poorly cat smells of the vets...I would just give it time.
No experience of crating cats....didn't have to with my three...they came home and just ...well....got back into it.

Can you get crated cat our and cuddle her so she smells of home again?

That's pretty normal, I'd try a feliway plug in to try to restore harmony! Good luck with the recovery, not easy keeping a cat crated. For future visits it can be a good idea to rub a piece of clothing over both cats and take it to the vets with the sick cat so when you bring it home there's a familiar scent, doesn't always work but worth a try.
