Am I going to be dealing with these presents every day for the rest of the cats' lives?

So the dcats have brought in at least one (if not 2-3) mice every day for the last three weeks - mainly in the evening/night but sometimes during the day, I notice because the cats just sit and look at the area where the mouse is hiding. 99% of the time the mice are fine (i.e. alive and able to run around whilst I try to catch them). I am concerned that I am going to end up with an infestation of mice in the house if I don't manage to notice every time the cats bring in mice.
Am I going to be playing catch the mice for next 14 odd years? And am I' going to end up colonised by mice (this really is not what the cats are fed for!!)?

Our cat does this if he isnt overly happy with his food situation. I look on it like he is telling us we are not providing for him so he is doing it for us instead.
Apparently those who feed a raw diet dont get so many "presents"

I find they catch fewer rodents when they get to 9 or 10 years old...

At least it's only mice, my SIL is semi rural and her two cats like to occasionally knock out and bring in live crows and rabbits. Crows make a lot of mess when cats have been playing with them indoors for a few hours, feathers , shit, blood everywhere - walls, ceilings, carpets, sofa, windows, blinds, and lots of breakages. 😱

I moved somewhere more crowded and with more other cats around, that cut down the amount of 'presents' I got. As did getting a dog - I pray not because he was eating them!
As did my cat getting elderly.

I put a collar with a bell on my huntress. Seemed to help. Fewer ‘gifts’.
