Throw your best cat/kitten toys at me

Hi all, I'm looking for some decent cat toy recommendations. Preferably nothing too big and stuff that keeps them entertained for a little while. I've had a toy delivered today with a laser and dangly bit that has kept her occupied for ages so far. I'm loving it because it's stopped her going for the sofas/kids!

So if you know anything (preferably stuff that can be picked up on amazon) then I'd appreciate suggestions!

My friend has just adopted a cat and I bought him some Mollies Mice and they have gone down very well - apparently he wore himself out playing with them!

bluebunny123 · 30/10/2019 20:20

@PinkSparklyPussyCat thanks I've ordered her some. Hopefully they go down just as well!

My cat's favourite things to play with are small craft pom poms 😻

bluebunny123 · 30/10/2019 22:24

@sanitygirl I've got some of those in the cupboard think I'll dig them out for her

Scrunched up tin foil, pegs and pasta here!

PhannyMcNee · 30/10/2019 22:27

Hair bobbles/bands are the preferred toy of our moggy. Which is lucky because 12yo dc3 likes to leave them all around the house.

Apanicaday · 30/10/2019 22:27

Slinkys. One of my cats is obsessed with the mini ones you can get

GuppytheCat · 30/10/2019 22:29

A nice large house spider goes down well here.

bluebunny123 · 30/10/2019 23:54

@PiggyPlumPie do they not eat the pasta? Is that a stupid question Blush

The other suggestions made me chuckle.. she can happily have any spiders she finds!

Ping pong balls and anything that contains um cat mint brain fart, feathers, flies and spiders.

PiggyPlumPie · 31/10/2019 08:30

It's dry pasta and he bats it around the floor until I find it in little pieces. Doesn't seem to eat it but who knows? Grin

Aderyn19 · 31/10/2019 08:33

Mine loves us to dangle boot laces, so she can pounce on them.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 31/10/2019 08:48

Screwed up shredded wheat wrappers.
Feathers (swan or peacock best)
Laces.
And when our most recent pair were very small we had a friend visit who had long hair - the kittens absolutely loved her Grin.

JenniR29 · 31/10/2019 08:50

The cardboard box that the expensive cat toy comes in usually!!

Toddlerteaplease · 31/10/2019 09:16

The late Maia, adored the thermometer covers that we used at work. I'd come home with loads in my pockets. She'd fish them out of the bin. I was amazed she had the brains to work out how to get them!

LimaOscarLima · 31/10/2019 10:37

My cat loves when I blow up a balloon then let it goes and it flies all around the room, he'll chase after it and then bring it back to me to do it again.

BertrandRussell · 31/10/2019 10:41

Another kitten....

RockinHippy · 31/10/2019 10:44

A cardboard box, siliver paper wrapped around catnip & rolled into a ball, an old baby sock stuffed with catnip & crinkly plastic wrapping & knotted, plus a be any kitten of DDs she's nicked as her own.

I wouldn't bother with buying toys. We have a pile untouched in a corner near their bed

fantasmasgoria1 · 31/10/2019 10:46

There are cat toys at b&m that my girl loves called turkey lurkey, tatty rat and fuzzy wuzzy bird (that's what it says on the tag. She absolutely loves them. She loves pom pom balls, plastic balls etc. She has a 3 tier scratching post and a crackle tunnel which she plays and sleeps in. Oh and mils curlers!!!!!

fantasmasgoria1 · 31/10/2019 10:46

Guppy - and woodlice!

WaningGibbous · 31/10/2019 10:49

Pipe cleaners
Ping pong balls
Foil - although I wouldn't encourage this if you ever want to sneak kitkats, viscount biscuits or easter eggs behind your children's backs because the cat will give you away.

Iwantacookie · 31/10/2019 10:50

Tin foil balls
Peas
Hair bands
Shoelace
