Best wet food for sensitive stomachs/ possible ibd?

I've been recommended to feed my cat something for sensitive stomachs, due to chronic diarrhoea, the vet thinks could be ibs/d, unsure which, but the food they recommend is Hills, which has grains in it. I've been feeding my boys grain free food and don't really want to change to food containing grains. I've looked on zooplus, but there are so many mixed reviews. Can anyone recommend a good wet food that I can feed all my cats that suits sensitive stomachs? I'm also going to give them prokollin.

I do usually follow my vets advice, I just don't want to go back to food containing grain. I'd also prefer dry food, but one cat is prone to urinsry problems and another vomits when eating dry food - possibly because he eats too fast.

I've also considered a raw diet, but worry about taurine, although I imagine there is something I can add??

I used James Wellbeloved when my cat was on a sensitive tum diet. It cost about 1/2 of the price of the prescription vet food but has practically identical ingredients. It is also on offer fairly often, my independent pet shop regularly has a free box of wet when you buy a bag of dry for example.

Cheddar is very sensitive and was vomiting huge amounts every day. The only thing that has got it under control is Iams vitality. It's wheat/Maize free and she's ok with that.
Her poo is still horrendous so I'm trying psysillium powder.

Bozita Diet & Stomach Sensitive from ZooPlus is amazing, my sensitive boy does great on it and all my four love it. It comes in tetrapaks. Their sensitive dry food is good too.

One of my two has a slightly senstive tummy, I put it down to foods containing cereals and vegetable protein.

I can't recommend anything of of quality, my two are a fussy pair and the only thing I've found they will both eat is plain Felix (not AGAIL) but Boris is fine on it. I'd say have a look at the labels in pet shops and online companies like Zooplus, Fetch you can search easily for grain free.

My cat Mia has a sensitive stomach and never has any problems when I feed her Leonardo ( www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/canned_cat_food_pouches/leonardo ). It contains no grains or sugar. However, Leonardo is a German company (I am in Germany) and manufactures here so I‘m not sure whether it will be available post-Brexit. But it is fantastic cat food.

I've fed grain free for years, but he's had a dodgy tum for a while. As it's quite bad at the moment I've put him on chopped up chicken for a few days. I'll order something from zooplus, I'll have a look. I've got dry food for sensitive tums, but he can only eat a little due to his tendency to urine problems. I'm having to separate them at feeding time which is difficult, as none of them can stand closed doors🙀 One of the others throws up after eating dry food and won't eat chicken, the third one will eat anything 😆

Hills z/d has totally transformed my cat with inflammatory bowel and he hasn't had any diarrhoea for about ten years since being on it. He has both the wet and dry versions.

Sorry, should add that all my boys happily eat the z/d. Feeding them different foods is impossible so it's expensive, but worth it.

So I bought bozita dry food and am feeding him chicken, but he's still got diarrhoea and has been sick too. I'm just fed up of going to the vets and them not knowing what is wrong with him, they can do expensive tests, but he's not insured as he was ill since being a kitten and I'm currently unable to work so only have benefits. Feeling very fed up and hopeless about the situation now.

I'm going to not fed him for 12 hours as advised online and then only a spoonful of chicken, see if that helps.

We took our cat to specialist in oxford and they recommend hills. Which he had for over a year until they changed the flavour and it set him back

They’ve recommended high protein content food with unusual meats eg venison, duck, fish etc...basically not just bulked out with chicken

He’s now on steamed cod twice a day (one mixed with something called lintbells or something to help bind him together) and then has thrive herring and salmon biscuits...so far so good

At the moment it seems like he's actually got a bug, as I've given him nothing to eat for the past 5 and a half hours, but he keeps being sick, just liquid, so it's back to the vets tomorrow. He seems ok in himself, still asking for food, but obviously something's not right. I'm really worried my other two will catch it. On the other hand he's always been very nervous and we moved house a week ago, so I thought it was just stress making him worse, but I don't think he'd be sick so many times if it was stress, usually he just gets diarrhoea.

One of my cats has a very delicate stomach. He can't have treats or anything. The only thing we've found that doesn't give him diarrhoea is ProPlan.

@Adollop is it possible he could need a course of medication to get him back on track first? Mine had antibiotics and steroids at a tapered dose and is now maintained with diet alone, for about six years now.

I have tried various expensive wet food all promising the best high meat content, no grains, etc and the only thing that worked is home cooked meat with the added powder with taurine in it. Zooplus sell it. I have tried so hard to get the perfect poo from my cats and now we have it! Haha! Before that we had repeated episodes of diarrhoea. I think a raw diet is best but I have children and couldn't risk contamination so opted for home cooked. It is cheaper than all the expensive special foods too.

I've been to the vets with him today, he doesn't have a temperature, and she didn't seem concerned, so she gave him an injection to stop him being sick and sold me some Hills id. He's eating it and hasn't been sick since, but still has diarrhoea - I feel like the whole house stinks Sad

Labia what meats do you cook and how do you cook them? How much do you feed per day?

They have duck, chicken, liver, pork and beef. I mix in goose fat and felini powder (must be sprinkled on when the food is cold as it ruins the content). I pour the stock on from cooking, or add water if I have run out. They have occasional tuna or salmon too. I also give them some canned pumpkin for fibre with every meal. The 6 month old kittens have 3 meals a day each about the size of my palm, and the big older cat has 2 meals a day of a similar amount in total (ie 2 bigger meals). This has totally sorted them out following many vet trips and having to contain them in one room because of the upset stomach. Very occasionally they have some Almo Nature Kitten chicken food (wet) as this is the only one that they can all tolerate in small amounts. However it is not a complete food so cannot be fed all the time. Obviously you can buy the soon to be out of date meat and freeze it.

Haha yes, I am actually vegan! That's not a joke. My husband is jealous of the cats' food as I don't often cook him meat!

So ... he's feeling much better, but now another of my cats has got diarrhoea Sad I'm feeding them all Hills prescription diet for gastro-intestinal problems at the moment, hopefully it'll clear it up too. Feeling really down and stressed. I'm still no closer to knowing what to feed them once they're all better ... so many suggestions and it sounds like it's trial and error. I'm spending a fortune on different foods, which I really can't afford at present and none of them seem to agree with all of them. Sorry for the rant .. just feeling very down about it all ... I've just moved house and feel overwhelmed by it all.

I looked on zooplus for Bozita Diet & Stomach Sensitive food, but could only find dry food. I'm still feeding Hills prescription diet ibd, but one cat still has diarrhoea. He's quite happy in himself and always hungry. Trying to avoid another vet visit, where they'll just charge me to tell me nothing new Confused

I'm gutted ... two of the cats puked today. One is sick often because he eats too fast, but the other cat was the original puking cat .. I was hoping he'd got over it, worried now he'll be sick again.
