One year old cat won't have wet food anymore?

Hi, this is my first post and I'm quite new to cats.

The cat has just turned one and he usually couldn't wait and would devour any wet food given but will now refuse it, might lick it a bit but won't actually eat it.

I tried mixing it with some dried food but that didn't work, he just picked the biscuits out and I'm getting a little worried.

There is plenty of water that is regularly refilled and he will have dried food, biscuits and dry cat treats, just no wet food.

I've tried trays, tins, cat paté, pouches.

I'm concerned he isn't getting what he needs, this has been going on for about a week now.

Does anyone have any advice on what else to try or do?

Thanks to anyone who can help out.

Our cat no longer eats wet food, apart from the odd can of tuna!

Cats are fussy and contrary ;)

My housemates cat refused all wet food and would only eat dry. Now almost a year later he started going off dry and the only wet he will eat is felix soup 🤢. He has that on a night and dry in the morning. Just stick to dry for now and give wet treats like lick e lix.

Cats are fickle creatures! Mine used to lick the jelly off wet food and leave the meat so he’s been on dry for 2 years now. He drinks plenty of water and the vet says this is fine for him. As long as he is well in himself I would just let him have dry food for a while - don’t buy in bulk though as that will be a sure fire way to make him change his mind and want wet food again 😹

I should have added he has a 90% meat grain free dry food and has had no health problems so far but I am aware of the fact this may not work for cats that don’t drink much.

They lick the jelly / gravy because that is the component that has a palletiser added to encourage them to eat. Most brands don't add palletiser to the chunks. Theres a brand called Gelert that has it in both, so might eat that? Otherwise resign yourself to complete dry food only
