Cat won't use new water fountain

My cat won't touch still water and two years ago I bought him a water fountain which he drank from regularly. It needed replacing so I got a new one but now he won't go near the thing! He keeps jumping up to the kitchen tap even when I put him in front of the new fountain. He has a diet of (complete) dry food with the occasional fish during the week and I'm worried that he's getting dehydrated. Any tips? I'm fretting!

Try a glass of water. Mine drink from that. Or you'll just have to keep turning the tap on!

Is it louder or of a different material than the last one maybe?

Yeah, mine would only drink out of a glass of water or a plant pot base thingy (or anything else a bit iffy) in the garden.

You NEED to give him some wet food in the interim...anything without onion/garlic.

Cats never do what you want them too.
Mine drinks exclusively from glasses, toilets and running taps.
