Is my cat male? (Pic included)

I rescued two kittens from cats protection a couple of weeks ago. They are both boys (I was told).

A friend came over today and said she thinks one is a girl.

I never checked before but I have taken a picture of his bits and google is absolutely no help.

What do you think?

I'm so confused.

They are 11 weeks old.

Can you take a picture of the other one? I don't see much in the way of testicles there but then I suppose they will have been neutered already. Have you been to the vet with them yet?

dementedpixie · 24/04/2019 20:32

I think neutered Male

Tulipvase · 24/04/2019 20:34

Old are the kittens?

Tulipvase · 24/04/2019 20:35

Just seen 11 weeks - they wouldn’t have been neutered at that age surely?

Waveymaevey · 24/04/2019 20:35

Male - just doesn’t have testicles visible yet. CP should have given you vouchers for neutering from 4 months so not a problem long term

titchy · 24/04/2019 20:37

Male. Genitals much further away from anus than in female cats.

dementedpixie · 24/04/2019 20:37

I thought rescues often neutered earlier than 4 months

Minkies11 · 24/04/2019 20:38

It's a boy Grin
Maybe a bit too young to have visible testicles yet but looks male to me.

Sammy867 · 24/04/2019 20:40

I’d say male if I had to guess but it’s usually easier with a known comparison as Female cats the openings are usually close together and male cats they’re further apart (female 1/2 inch or male over 1 inch)

NakedMum33and3rd · 24/04/2019 20:42

They haven't been neutered yet. I've been trying to get a picture of the other one but he is very slippery and won't stand still for me!
I've definitely seen the other ones male bits so I know he is a boy. I'm just not sure about this one as it looks slightly different. I'm going to keep trying to get a picture. That will make for a fun evening!

100% male.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/04/2019 21:00

Sorry OP I've no idea what sex your cat is - but I can confirm that Battersea now neuter kittens at 8 or 9 weeks.

NakedMum33and3rd · 24/04/2019 21:09

We will be getting them neutered when they are 4 - 6 months. That was the advice from cats protection. They are giving us vouchers to cover the cost of neutering.

We waiting 6 months to get our boys neutered - kept a close eye re spraying etc but they never did. It weirdly looks like they still have massive testicles though - been assured they do not by the vet !

dementedpixie · 24/04/2019 21:20

Mine were done at 4 months as recommended

Theninjawhinger · 24/04/2019 21:25

Erm, while all you experts are here - can I ask if my kitten is a boy or a girl?! I was told a boy, but then the man said he wasn’t sure! He’s 11 weeks (and gorgeous!)

dementedpixie · 24/04/2019 21:29

I'd say boy too as the penile opening is quite far away from the anus

SpamChaudFroid · 24/04/2019 21:30

I'd say both kittens pictured are male.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2019 21:41

You’ll need to do them ASAP, if ones female they will mate & she can get pg without having a season first.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 25/04/2019 18:49

The CP place near me, won’t let you have a cat non neutered. They neuter at 8 weeks now.
