Oh joy, moulting season is upon us. Hand held vacuum recommendations?

As effective as the Miele is, if anyone can advise on a mini hand held model, I feel it would be easier to quickly deal with floating fur clumps that way!

Are you brushing daily?

I overdid it one year, poor bugger was bald.

KetchupOnRoastDinner · 23/04/2019 21:15

Yes, but she’s a long haired indoor cat, so there’s nowhere to hide!

Not hand held but we just got a new Shark with a special animal hair mode and it's amazing!

We do have a Black and Decker handheld that's pretty good too.

I got a dyson animal which can't cope with long hair. Hmmso got a total clean with a fatter brush bar. I love it!

You can hoover the cat?????
I'd love to do this but not sure I would survive.

rosydreams · 24/04/2019 14:04

lol when my other half has our tortie on his lap and i see the puffs of fur when he pets her

CitadelsofScience · 24/04/2019 14:13

Dyson V10 Animal. My dog sheds like she should be bald and this vac gets it all up with ease.

YonWeeLassie · 24/04/2019 14:46

So you're hoovering up the moulted fur not the cat........Blush

KetchupOnRoastDinner · 24/04/2019 15:09

Yes Yon, but your idea of cutting out the middle man isn’t unheard of...

Not a vacuum cleaner but the ferminator seems to get loads of hair out and has reduced the amount around the house.

HastaLaVistaPrint · 24/04/2019 15:14

I'm not sure my cat would tolerate the hoover, may have to go straight to Veet.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 24/04/2019 15:21

Oh god I wish I could hoover Leroy! I have a Dyson cordless animal Vsomethingorother and that gets the fur up nicely once he's shed it. Everywhere. Despite being brushed daily. And the hairballs 😱.

KetchupOnRoastDinner · 24/04/2019 16:57

I was partway through brushing the cat today and she turned round and started eating one of the piles of fur that I’d put to one side!
