Name our new kittens!

Very excited to be bringing home 2 new kittens in a couple of months. Our friends cat had a litter of 4 last week so we went to see them as I've never seen newborn kittens before and predictably I've absolutely fallen head over heels. However I'm totally stumped about what to call them! DH thinks I'm absolutely rubbish with names (cant dispute that, I am!) so I need to draw on some mumsnet wisdom Grin

We've agreed to name one each, although we haven't decided on who is naming which. Keen to avoid names starting with A, M, P & T and people names. Would also prefer a 2 syllable name. All the kittens are tortie and white so should all be girls, one has more grey and the other has more ginger. Should be a picture of them attached below...

Thank you for all the suggestions babyspider. DH and I are purposefully avoiding people names for personal reasons, sadly they're far too emotive for us at the moment and are likely to be for quite some time. I should have made that clearer in my OP, sorry.

Brindoll (can be Dolly for short) and Simba.

AwkwardSquad · 17/03/2019 18:40

How about Coriander and Ginger, or Coriander and Cinnamon?

MagicalPinkUnicornFlower · 17/03/2019 18:49

Loving the spice names, hadn't thought of that! DH loves anything with coriander on (tastes like soap to me). Will have to see what he thinks. Could imagine myself shouting Cori down the garden quite happily Smile

Flowers. Topsy. Wispa. Trouble.
Queenie. Beauty.

AwkwardSquad · 17/03/2019 19:23

Yay! My favourite spice is cumin but if I named a cat that, it’d be like an episode of One Man and his Dog whenever I tried to call her in from the garden. Cumin! Come by!

itsbritneybiatches · 17/03/2019 19:37

Cagney and Lacey

MagicalPinkUnicornFlower · 17/03/2019 19:51

Tempted by Cumin now for the comedy factor! DH is not impressed, I got a very big eye roll Grin

Wispa is lovely, I could just imagine a dainty little puss padding gently about the house with a name like that.

How about names based on types of whisky e.g. Islay, cardhu, oban, tamdhu (tammie), Laphroaig etc

boatyardblues · 17/03/2019 20:50

The volcanoes in Iceland have female names. Hekla and Katla would work.

Ooooh! The shortlist grows longer!

Like the idea of whiskey based names but I don't want the vet to think we're alcoholics Grin
