I understand that this is on the large side for his age, vet is happy that he is not overweight just destined to be a large cat which is surprising as we found him as severely underweight half-starved 3 month old feral.kitten.

He has a very good appetite, we had been feeding on felix/whiskas as we hadn't budgeted for a cat but after reading some of the threads on here we are gradually switching him to.wainwrights

At 8 months, my moggie was about or closer to 3kg, probably 6lb? She had 1.5px of Felix, now a bit more at 2px and she’s just about reached her 1st birthday.

I think female cats do weigh a bit less anyway

I have a pair of nearly 8 month olds and the boy is 3.1kg and girl is 2.9kg. They still look really small compared to my adult cats so I expect a lot more growth.

My adults are a 5.2kg big boy and his 2.8kg tiny sister.

He seems to be much larger than any of yours, vet weighed him at 4.5kg so about 9.9lb. He was happy with the weight as he could easily feel his ribs and backbone so said he was just destined to be a bruiser(he has been neutered!)

We obviously know nothing about his ancestry but he has huge webbed paws so hoping their size is not an indication of how big he'll grow!
