Anyone have experience of sarcoma in an older cat?

Our beautiful almost 20 year old girl was diagnosed with a high grade sarcoma today. She was at her regular check-up earlier this week and the vet discovered a mass behind her left front leg but outside the rib cage and did an aspiration test.

She has no obvious symptoms at all - still eating and drinking very well, going out for her walks in the garden and grooming. She chased and knocked over an invading tom kitten from our garden only about four weeks ago!

The vet has suggested no line of treatment but has offered a referral for a second opinion/ specialist. We don’t want her to suffer but she seems so healthy. Has anyone had a similar experience - we want to give her every chance that we can.

No experience, but in a 20 year old cat, I'd go for palliative care only. I'd be very reluctant to put my younger cats through cancer treatment. But definitely not a very old cat. Thanksfor you.

Another one who would go for palliative care. 20 is a wonderful age so don't think I would want to put such an old cat through that.
A younger cat I would probably see what a referral vets had to say before deciding.
