A stray wouldn’t turn his nose up at gourmet, would they?

There’s an old lady at the top of our road who feeds scraps to a cat who looks a bit old now.

There was an ambulance there when we left Saturday, and a blacked out transit van there when we returned so I’m assuming she’s died.

The cat was there today so I fussed it. Clean, bit of flesh over the ribs and spine with some flubber. There was a paper on the doormat so she’s obviously not in. I took him a plate of gourmet up and he glanced up at her window hopefully then walked off!.

He’s got an owner, hasn’t he?.

Maybe I'm missing something but it sounds like he belonged to the lady?

Anyway the easiest thing to do is to put a paper collar on him with a message to say you think he might be stray, and if he has an owner could they call you + your number.

He wasn’t hers, he walks down the road in the morning and waits. When she’s fed him scraps he goes back up the road.

He’s an old boy by the looks of it with very soft fur.

Can you feed him something nicer? She must’ve been giving him nice human food. Bless him would he have an owner if he’s that thin and scruffy?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/02/2019 19:08

He’s not thin he’s old. We’ve taken strays in before and they are not fussy.

I will be monitoring though.

UPDATE.

I fed the cat again, turns out it doesn’t know what cat food is or recognise white plates as being pet dishes. I’ve been feeding a week now.

It’s very thin over the hind quarters, and bald in between the back legs. I’m giving grain free kitten food but one of the neighbours called me over today to say it might be owned and has celiac. She says the old neighbour used to have them lined up but I only ever saw the tabby and the cat who lives next door.

It looks a bit better already, I’m getting two pouches a day in her now.
