Pooping and peeing next too but not in the tray

Tray is cleaned all the time but I came down to clean tray and poo on floor this morning. Then again this morning to see pre all over my hallway and in my favourite hat (hat fallen from coat rack!) Why?? She’s 17. Getting vicious too. Buying and scratching but eating well and pottering in and out as usual.

It could be the start of kidney failure and possibly a touch of dementia. My childhood cat started pooing everywhere but in the tray and that was the beginning of the end. Have a chat with your vet, but it sounds as though old age has caught up with her and it may be kinder to have her PTS. I'm so sorry.
