Our lovely cat has been run over and killed. How do I tell the kids? :(

I can't believe it. He never goes far. We rescued him in September, and he was THE most loving cat. Even my best friend (a vet) said we're very lucky to have a cat like him. The children adored him, and they're going to be back from school later. I don't know what to say :(

They're 10, 7, 6 and 2.

Our gorgeous boy died a couple of months ago in the field at the bottom of our garden, he got himself wedged under a friend's garden gate trying to get away from a dog that was chasing him. There was very little blood on him but the damage had been done and he was dead. Sadly, he was found by my eldest DD who was distraught. DD2 didn't want to see him and we also had him cremated. The crematorium always snip a little fur off them and put it in a keyring. He was only just a year old.

Your friend was lovely to save you from seeing your kitty in that state. Flowers OP. The photo is lovely.
