My 6 yr old neutered black tom cat has blood in his poo. I took him to the vet and he diagnosed an infection and gave him antibiotics. However after the antibiotics it hasn't cleared up.
The blood is bright red, not lots of blood, looks like mucus too. He seems fine in himself. He's eating as usual.
My old cat - sadly no longer alive - used to have colitis, could it be that?
His diet isn't great because they're so picky. They have a mixture of tinned whiskas, tescos meat in jelly and applaws dry chicken flavour. Ideally I'd have them on raw but I've a tiny freezer and no room for a bigger one. They will only eat a certain sort for a few tins and then leave it to dry out and I end up throwing it away.
Any suggestions what I can feed him/ give him to help him? I'm on a very tight budget.
Thanks.
