Kitten off her food/ can't chew

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar. My kitten is 6 and a half months and I noticed tonight that she's off her food. She ate her morning meal but hasn't eaten the one I gave her at about half past 3 and doesn't seem to have touched any of the dry food I leave out for her all day. Then she threw up shortly after that. I've just put a fresh wet meal out for her and she hasn't touched that either.

I gave her a whiskas treat that she usually loves and she did eat it but she kept taking it into her mouth then dropping it before she managed to finally chew it up. Could she be teething? I read that teething is usually over by 6 months. Aside from this her behaviour is normal, she's still running about playing etc.

She was spayed a week and a half ago and has had her first vet check up which was fine and has another one tomorrow. Her wound looks to be healing up really well and she's not been fussing with it.

Thanks all!

Awww, sorry your kitty is feeling unwell 🤧
Has she perhaps eaten something she shouldn't have? Kittens are so inquisitive. My cat had a similar thing, we had swooped his food and he had a really sensitive tummy. Is she drinking ok? The vet will give her a thorough check in the morning so I'm sure she will be ok.

I bought Purina dry kitten food because it was on offer the other week and now that I think of it that's when she started being sick. She was sick one day last week but the vet thought it was maybe the anti inflammatory she was taking so took her off it and she'd been ok. But this morning I was running out of cat food so gave her half a pouch mixed with the dry food to bulk it up so she's probably eaten more of it than she would normally. I've had a look online and it gets pretty bad reviews. Hopefully it's that and I can just stop giving her it.

Should I take her wet food away too until the morning to let her stomach settle?

Also she's had a little of drink of water that I've seen.

Yep, it does sound like it might be the food making her poorly. Just don't give her any food until she's seen the vet. What food was she on before, if certainly go back to the original food if possible. Don't worry too much about her the vet will definitely advise her in the morning..
let us know what the vet says. Thanks

She's had all different food depending on what shop I manage to get to so she's had whiskas, felix, Lily's kitchen, applelaws and never had a problem with any of them and hasn't seemed to have a sensitive stomach! So I'm quite shocked she's had such an extreme reaction.

Thanks for your advice, I'll check in tomorrow x

Update: she was sick a few times until 3am this morning then was bright as a button by about 7! Vet isn't worried and thinks it's the new food so has given her a few pouches of sensitive tummy stuff.

Awesome 😊
Glad she's ok
