My little angel has to be pts today

My heart is breaking.

She is the best sweetest cat. She’s been my shadow for so long. But she is about 19. She has been steadily declining for months.

She went downhill Monday. Today she can’t stand up. The timing sucks because I’m in training all week for a new job.

I can’t stop crying.

So sorry. It's rubbish. But sounds like she had a great life with you.

recklessruby · 28/11/2018 13:41

So sorry OP that sucks. Of course you're crying, she was a good friend for nearly 20 years.
Remember her with love, you gave her a fantastic long life and now it's time for her to be at peace.
However many years we have with them it's never enough. Lost my 15 year old girl in July through kidney failure and still really sad xx

BatCritter · 28/11/2018 13:42

It's so sad, I'm sorry. It's a wonderful age to reach and she has been buoyed by your love throughout her life. It's so hard to let go but of course it's the right thing to do. I wish you strength 🌹

I'm sorry it is heartbreaking and the worst part of having pets. 19 is a wonderful age and she has been well loved by you. RIP dear old puss Flowers

cheesywotnots · 28/11/2018 14:48

So sorry about poor puss, she had a wonderful life and was very much loved. You will meet again over the rainbow.

Flower777 · 28/11/2018 15:11

Thank you everyone. I’m in bits. It’s so hard.

So sorry to hear this OP. I know it's not easy making that decision even if you know it's the right thing to do. Try and hold onto the lovely memories you have over the next few days and the fact she had a good life with you.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/11/2018 16:27

It does get better. The thing that helped me most after Fatty died was getting Cheddar. She's not a replacement. But she fills the cat shaped hole she left.

Flower777 · 28/11/2018 23:38

Thanks so much everyone. I managed to hold it together at work today.

We lost her sister in May so it’s a tough year for us. We do still have one lovely one left.

I do appreciate your kind words xxx

I am so sorry Flowers

Bellebelle · 29/11/2018 13:59

I’m so sorry. Our boy died this morning and we lost his sister in June, they were 15 years old and we had a wonderful life with them but our hearts are breaking too, it’s unbelievably hard.

MrsCatE · 29/11/2018 17:52

So sorry, Flower777. She obviously had a lovely and well fulfilled life with you.

Also, handhold to Bellebelle on loss of your boy Flowers to both of you. X

StillMedusa · 30/11/2018 00:11

So sorry...facing similar here and it hurts so much.
But she was loved. That's what matters.
I just wish they had a 70+ lifespan with us :(

Flower777 · 30/11/2018 01:12

Bellebelle, I am so sorry for your loss. It’s so hard isn’t it.

I’ve gone kind of numb for the moment. Im aware that that can be kind of normal though.

Stillmedusa, sending you hugs too. We waited until we were absolutely sure that it was the right time and that brings me a lot of comfort actually.

I was thinking today about all the roles my dear cat filled. If I was home she was with me whatever I was doing. It’s hard to describe the amount of loss I feel.
