What happened to the cat with an abscess on it's face ?

I was following a post about a cat that had a nasty abscess on his face and the op was taking her / him to the vets. What's happened ?

Some of the posts on there are awful. Yes I would have taken Harry before it got to that stage but some of the posts were bordering on hysterical. Suggesting the cat was put down? At least Lem and Veterinari posted sensibly rather than weighing in with personal attacks.
