Amount of food for kittens

We’ve got two 4 month old kittens and thanks to the great advice on this board have gradually changed both the wet and dry food they’re on to better quality ones.

The less good wet food they never ate very much barely 1.5 pouches a day between them, but were eating plenty of good quality dry.

Now that we’ve switched to the better wet they absolutely love it! Yesterday they ate 3 wet pouches between them and far less dry than before. So, my question is how much wet is too much? The box says that for their age they can have 2-4 pouches a day each. That seems a huge amount and I always think they make the recommendations too high. Can you overfeed kittens or do they just eat what they need?

Their growing fast, I used to fling a pouch in the dish and run. I fed on demand, much like a baby.

Same as pp, I feed on demand for babies.

Also I’m sorry to inform you but you’ve actually broken a pretty big rule here by posting about kittens without including photos. Please correct this ASAP.

Mine have two pouches each per day (Felix AGAIL) and two bowls of biscuits (RC kitten) between them. That's what CP told me. Once they're a little less nervy I'll change their food but I wonder if it's enough. They pounce on it like rationing is about to start!

Thank you very much for reassuring me. They can have as much as they like then! I’m just glad I’ve found healthy foods that they really like. I’ll attempt to rectify my heinous crime and attach a pic!

We’ve gone for applaws dry and felix as good as it looks wet. I’m really pleased they seem to like it and are eating more. I was worried they weren’t eating enough before!
