Just checking in OP- how are you doing?

pilates · 26/09/2018 07:21

Got a message that a dead cat had been found yesterday checked it out with the local vet but it wasnโ€™t mine. Another rollercoaster day. I donโ€™t think I can get another one. I used to really struggle with letting her out and the uncertainty of will she come back. I donโ€™t think I can put myself through it again. So in answer to your question Iโ€™ve never felt so low.๐Ÿ˜”

Donโ€™t think about getting another one or not just yet. That cat wasnโ€™t yours. Yours may well still come home. Such a horrid rollercoaster to get that call though. Thinking of you. Hoping for good news.

So sorry ypu are going through this

DannyWallace · 26/09/2018 19:59

Oh OP I'm so sorry you're going through this.
I can't give any advice, but until you hear otherwise just keep asking neighbours, posties, vets etc.

LanguidLobster · 26/09/2018 21:11

Oh @pilates we're all thinking of you. Hope she is back with her cat mum soon.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 26/09/2018 21:14

Op our dcat was missing 6 months!! Found her skinny but OK under a tree at the local shops! Back before microchipping - these days someone would take a stray/injured to the vets I am sure.
It is a hideous time op.

Sending more hopes your way. I did a leaflet campaign for mine, and was deside myself, she was a darling little soul and never wandered. I ended up knocking on every door and asking them to check their sheds while I waited I was very annoying 4 days later she came streaking in through the open back door like she's been locked in all that time. She was skinny, starving, and dehydrated. Bless her, she has since passed, but she was such a darling always so caring of the DC if they upset she would literally run to them, she should have been called 'nanny' I think.

I also had a dcat turn up in the snow some winters ago, in the end I had to take him in he was literally starving skinny, so he went in a travel case in front of fire with our dogs and dcats and a lot of food, he just slept, he was I think close to death. I kept putting him out and letting him in in case he wanted to run for home, posted everywhere, rang all vets, nothing, nooone came for him or recognised him. He now lives with a friend running out of space for any more

ipswichmum · 26/09/2018 21:44

Hope you get some news soon. X

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 26/09/2018 22:25

What about a leaflet to all local schools and shops?

rupertpenryswife · 26/09/2018 22:53

Any news op? this is such a horrible situation to be in, been there with my 4 month old kitten but she did return. I'm keeping everything crossed she is found soon.

Bimgy85 · 27/09/2018 08:29

Sorry op home she comes home soon SadSadThanks

sugarcoatedthorns · 27/09/2018 15:27

Flowers Cake hoping you are reunited very soon xx

Icequeen01 · 27/09/2018 18:07

I was thinking about your missing cat today and hoping there might be some news. If she slipped inside someone's house who perhaps was going away for a couple of weeks they may be back tomorrow as two weeks have passed. Fingers crossed she just appears at your door, albeit she will be very hungry.

Taffeta · 27/09/2018 18:10

We had a car that was around our garden for a bit, then disappeared, then turned up a month later.

Through the power of social media, we found his owner and reunited them - heโ€™d been missing three months.

Hope yours turns up op.

JazKish · 28/09/2018 17:45

I have been keeping an eye on this thread, and hoping for your cat to come home soon. Sometimes cats can get badly injured and get disorientated,or afraid to go home and hide somewhere, but they eventually come home,so don't lose hope. Best of wishes.

pilates · 28/09/2018 21:56

Itโ€™s two weeks now. I had a dream last night she walked back in. Iโ€™m doing crazy things, turning off the cooker with food still in it, making silly mistakes at work and nearly drove into someone. ๐Ÿ˜”

Wolfiefan · 28/09/2018 22:11

Cats come back after longer. Still keeping it crossed here. Any neighbours on holiday? One of ours likes to creep into garages and the other got into an empty house. Hoping that dream comes true. For now look after yourself. Try and eat and sleep and drive carefully.

recklessruby · 28/09/2018 23:44

I really hope you get good news soon. I know what you are going through and how you feel. It just takes over your life doesn't It?

sugarcoatedthorns · 29/09/2018 14:58

Oh Pilates Sad I so feel for your distress, I would be exactly the same. You hate to think something bad has come to them and being unable to help, but you are doing everything you can.

Hoping upon hope here that you have the best news very soon x ๐Ÿ’ž

NameChange0000 · 29/09/2018 15:12

If she is microchipped, does it not tell you the location of her? I'm so sorry you are going through this! Two weeks Sad

sugarcoatedthorns · 29/09/2018 16:00

Oh! It does?! I thought it was just an ID?

WildCherryBlossom · 29/09/2018 16:20

No. Sadly microchips are not tracking devices. If a vet scan a cat they will be able access your contact details, but they have to physically have the vet. There are tracking devices available but a bit bulkier and attached to the collar rather than under the skin.

MrsCatE · 30/09/2018 04:04

Thinking of you OP. Everything crossed. X

Rudgie47 · 30/09/2018 14:25

Any news OP?
