Do I need to go to the vet (photo)

My naughty girl had a fight with a neighbour's cat the night before last and is feeling rather sorry for herself. We've kept her in so we can keep an eye on her, which she's not very happy about! She's got some scratches on her front paws, which were bleeding when she came back in but seem to be mending now. I'm more worried about her bottom lip though, which looked like it had split when she came home. Today it looks red and sore, almost blister-like. I've tried to take a photo when she was asleep, but it's not the best (or the prettiest)! Should I leave it to clear up on its own or does it need a trip to the vet for some antibiotics and/or treatment?

I would take her to the vet. Cat on cat injuries often get infected so she might need antibiotics.

Vet while it's a weekday and you don't have to pay an out of hours visit charge.

Yes trip to vet. Our lad had a nasty fight and got a wound on his ear which got infected (smelly too) I didn't realise straight away so we should have dealt with it sooner. Vet got all the pus out, cleaned it up and gave him antibiotic injection. It's all ok now-we did have to keep cleaning it at home and go back to check it was healing ok.

Vet for an antibiotic I'm afraid. Cats have appalling bacteria in the mouth.

Yeah that doesn't look very happy. Id take him ASAP rather than be forced too at the weekend when it costs more.

It goes look sore, so I'd say take her to the vet. We didn't realise our boy had a bite/wound, but it became infected. I only took him to the vet as he was acting out of character, but the vet found a lump which was full of puss. Not saying this will happen to your little one, but worth getting on top of any treatment.

Yes I would.

That was unanimous! Thanks all. Took her to the evening surgery and the vet have her two injections. One was a painkiller, the other was a long lasting antibiotic. She said keep an eye on it but it should heal by itself. My naughty tortie is grounded for at least the next few days!

Oh, poor girl! Those antibiotic injections always do the job in my experience - hopefully she'll be out and about again soon.

My cat got scratched by another cat and got a really nasty bug which totally knocked her for 6, I'd visit the vet

Oh sorry OP 🤦🏻‍♀️
