How can I get my cat with an upset tummy to drink?

Woke up to a poorly house cat. She'd been sick and had diarreaha during the night and this morning. No idea what she has eaten.

She has stopped hiding but is still staying away from everyone and hasn't eaten or drunk anything, even her favourite treat.

She has form for not drinking and gets UTIs really easily. Our normal course of action is tuna water but I'm not sure that's a good idea.

How can we get her to drink something? Not overly fussed whether she eats but she needs to stay hydrated.

How is she now? You don't have lilies in the house do you?

Are you planning to take her to the vet? Tuna water strikes me as quite a good idea. If you have a syringe you could carefully syringe a little bit of water into her mouth.

If she's dehydrated, I believe that no amount of water will rehydrate her. She could be in pain and won't be bothered with eating and drinking. Do you have any painkilier to give her, such as loxicom? A trip to the vet is probabaly the best thing. Hope she's better soon.

You could try the tuna water, or syringe a bit of water between cheek and teeth, if she's an obliging cat.
If you pinch her skin, does it drop back straight away, or stay pinched ( dehydrated)?
If she keeps the no eating or drinking up, then vet, she needs fluids.
If the will eat, then wet food supplies a lot of moisture. Try something like raw beef mince to tempt her.
