My old girl crossed the rainbow bridge last night

Nothing anyone can do I know but my 15 year old tabby cat died in her sleep last night. She was fine till the last few days when she had been off her food and sleeping more.
I know she had a good long life and died in her sleep in the house she was born in but I m devastated.
I have her wrapped up in the cool cat carrier just now but will need to be brave and lay her to rest after the rest of the family come home.
She was the runt of a the litter and we kept her. A real character. This house and garden were her whole world.

Thank you sneakygremlins my son was 15 when she was born. He named her and actually delivered the kittens. He s 30 now so she's been around half his life.
We had just decided on Friday that we would be going to the vet on Monday but I did say if it was bad news I would struggle to make the decision to let her go. Now she's gone naturally.

Sorry for your loss . Our neighbour had a cat who went in her sleep and he said she looked so peaceful on her favourite chair.

Thank you all. She does look peaceful. She just went to sleep and never woke up again.

RIP Greylight, sad for you op but a nice way for her to go. I am sorry OP it's awful when we loose our beloved cats.

Thank you everyone. We have just laid her to rest in one of her favourite spots in the garden.
My son dug the grave and we were both in floods of tears. We gave her a little funeral.
My young cat is sad and confused. It's horrible x
