Friends feeding semi feral cats while we're on holiday

We have 2 semi feral cats which live in our garage. We adopted them 2 years ago to deal with a rat issue! I usually feed them wet food and water twice a day. We are off on holiday for 2 weeks and a friend is feeding them for us. Would it be ok (ie easier for my friend) for her to come just once a day and give them 1 pouch of wet food each plus a big bowl of dry food to keep them going until the next day? Plus lots of water. Thanks for any advice.

That sounds fine to me! They might be a bit Hmm at first but they'll be ok as long as the food keeps coming!

I think you're lovely looking after them like this. After all, it''s not as if they're sitting on your lap in return! Grin

I would be worried about encouraging rodents by leaving out a big bowl of dry food.

Can you get an automatic pet feeder so she comes once a day and fills it up and sets it to open during the day?

Thank you both for your comments. Sadly our rodent problem was in our house rather than the garage but my cats catch anything and everything so have sorted the problem for me! They are a bit more domesticated now and like a stroke but definitely not a cuddle lol.

That sounds perfectly fine.

If they can catch things they won't starve! Make sure there is plenty of water. More bowls in case they upend one.
