how to stop neighbours cat bullying our cat

So we moved into our home last october. There are lots of cats in our area and it became apparant in the first two weeks that our garden was a hotspot for cats probably because the previous owners did not have them.

Anyway despite dcat now being in our garden regularly and having marked her territory here there are still a couple of cats coming in. One of them in particular comes every day and will just lie in the grass. He's about twice the size of our dcat. She will hide in the bushes whilst he lies in the middle of the grass. If he sees her he goes for her and suddenly they are wailing and fighting until we run out and the other cat immediately legs it.

So far she hasn't been hurt or injured but i'm worried what will happen when we aren't there to protect her. He runs off the moment he sees me or dp but will spend what feels like hours taunting our dcat. Is there anything we can do?

This happened to my cat. I love cats more than anything in the world but I had to protect my own, in his own garden. So I threw stones at the bully (not to hurt him, just to scare him off so I never actually hit him with the stones). Somebody suggested squirting him with a water pistol but the stones did the trick.

A bit harsh but it's not like you can have a chat with them about boundaries etc.

The last straw with me was when BullyCat pinned my cat down and pissed on him.

NO! Angry

@YourVagesty - poor kitty!!

Yep I'd be squirty gun/ hose piping the bullyCat - if it were my elderly beloved boy cat or my tiny cute little girl - they're a bit feeble and would need mums help these days (DboyCat used to be the resident macho mog)

I've started using a water pistol on a new to the neighbourhood entire tom who's been in my garden. OK so mine are indoor cats so behind mesh and he can't harm them, but I worry about my neighbour's cat who tends to come in a lot. It was bad enough him sitting right by the wire mesh and growling & hissing at mine (they ignored him) but when I approached the door he also growled & hissed at me, and on the same day he also a) pooped right outside the door and b) sprayed all over the open door.

I've seen him an awful lot less since I got the water pistol!

I hose the bully cats in my garden too. They only have to see me at the window now to leg it.

I’ve tried hosepiping but he scarpers the moment I appear at the door

Can you get a water pistol and squirt him from a window, maybe one upstairs that overlooks the garden if you can, he won't see you so can't run off. Failing that can you catproof your garden fence, does he come and sit in the same spot every day, if so I wonder if there's something you could put down or spray that would deter him.
