What to do with cat dirty cat litter in this heat?

I’ve just recently moved house and now only get my general waste bin emptied every 2 weeks, instead of the communal bins that were emptied every day at my old flat. The problem is that with this heat, the old cat litter in the bin is absolutely reeking and I’m only halfway through the collection period - I can’t imagine what 2 week old, slow roasted litters going to smell like

How does everyone else empty trays and deal with the litter, especially in this heat? I use corn based litter that you're meant to be able to flush in the loo, but I don’t like that idea at all and my ancient plumbing wouldn’t appreciate it!

I need some ideas before the binmen excommunicate me!

Can you get the smaller bags that you can decant it into then seal up and put in the black bin?

Double bag it? in truth there's not much else you can do and nobody will berate you over your rubbish bin smelling, it's a bin.

Ive got small swing bin liners that i empty the tray into, seal and bin

Ours goes in the compost bit which is taken weekly. Might be worth checking if your council composts it?

The same as I do every week, double bag it, as per our Council's guidelines. I don't really notice a smell other than when opening the bin.

Same here. I use pedal bin bags to scoop the litter into, knot the top and put straight in the outside bin.

I use flushable litter.
Our bins only get emptied every three weeks and there's no way in the heat.
I do bin it in cooler weather, but like this it has to be flushed.
Before you all yell at me, the place by my bins would be crawling with maggots, flies and seagulls.

There's actually very ittle litter in in anyway because of the way it clumps, it's probably 90% poo and wee.

I’ve been using nappy sacks for the day to day emptying (I use clumping litter) so I’ll add an extra bag and see if that helps.

I didn’t think the council would take the compost bin if it had litter in, but I’ll give them a phone and see - that would be very handy if they will!

Thanks for the responses, I feel a bit better knowing that there isn’t some magic way of doing it that everyone else knows, and I’m just not adulting properly

Can nappy bags of cat litter go in the dog poo bins

Pretty sure that most cat litter is not compostable and that standard advice is double bag and bin with everyday rubbish, like dog poo.

I put the poo down the toilet,on a daily basis g and the rest of dirty litter in carrier bags or bin bags,,and then into wheelie bin
Last week though my wheelie bn was crawling with maggots, nothing to do with litter im sure, ,but there had been a lot of flies around in general,
Had to take everything out and wash with bleach, and drown the horrible things,
