What are your thoughts on giving a long haired cat a hair cut while its hot?

I have a fluff ball of a cat. She is so hot in this weather and after seeing my neighbours normally fluffy dog with a haircut wondered if it would be a good idea for her.

She loves being brushed, so don't think she would mind the actual process. But the pictures I have googled are all american and seem to be done for the look rather than comfort, so I'm not sure if it is a 'thing' in the UK.

Obie gets a twice yearly shave..but thats due to his refusal to be groomed. I wouldn't do it otherwise. My other two long hairs just find cool spots (and Ophie paddles in the pond!)

Mine is coming to me to be brushed twice a day. Isnt she lucky im off sick? Just now i found her pamper spray and normally she'd run a mile when i pressed the spray but she just lay there so i went a step further and rubbed a wet flannel over and again she enjoyed it
