fleas.. easier to manage in indoor cats?

i hate fleas.

I have 2 cats that both have Comforts from.the vets once a month. I was led to believe this would kill fleas and stop them for a month the each time.

but my cats are outdoor cats so I think as protected as they are the other cats out side probably aren't so my cats are getting fleas everyone they go out.

so to eradicate the fleas, I've just found one on my leg, would it better to have indoor cats?

My indoor girls have never had fleas, touch wood. But I still de flea them sporadically.

I'm moving soon hopefully. I'll have to keep them in for a while anyway after moving soon may just keep them in full stop.

Both my two furballs are indoor and outdoor roaming, both have had next to no effect from any flea treatments bar the injection you get from the vets. They advise it lasts 4-6 months but I've found it's effective for a year. The injection makes all the fleas that bite the cats sterile so they can't reproduce which stops the cycle!

I think once they've been outdoor cats they're going to hate not being able to go out. I've never heard of Comfort flea treatment, have you tried Advantage and the other big name, can't remember it atm.

I might ring around about the injection tho, sounds better tbh.

Getting mine done next week, £63 per cat but worth it as otherwise I'd spend a fortune in spot ons, shampoos and house treatments!

Stronghold or Advocate from the vet applied monthly both prevents and kills fleas.
Indoor cats can still get fleas as we can bring them or eggs in from outside although I believe it is less likely.

I still treat my indoor cats for fleas. They chat to other local cats through the window mesh, I visit a few cats who are allowed out, and I pet a few of the local cats, so there is plenty of opportunity for them to get fleas.

I only do them once a year, but do keep an eye out the rest of the time.
