Anyone else's cat gone to rainbow bridge in last few days

I made the decision to have my lovely little Lottie put to sleep last Friday. She was over 18.5, had limited sight, limited hearing and senile. She was finding it harder to get around and find her food, I just couldn't put her through it any more.

I'm so grateful for the many happy hours I had with her (and her brother who we lost last year) but it's not easy. Sounds sad, but I went to a larger Tescos on Saturday to get myself out. Luckily I was working yesterday and then only a couple of hours today, but I've had my fair share of tears this morning.

My daughter doesn't live with us (she has a scholarship at a private school) and sent a message late last night asking about Lottie - my husband said he'll tell her tonight as he'll be a lot calmer.

If you're in a similar situation, how are you?

I had my beautiful boy put to sleep last Thursday.

He was also 18 and we had had him from a kitten.

It’s tough. Miss him so much but it was the right thing to do.
I’m definitely finding it easier when I’m out the house. The house obviously has so many memories of him.

I still find nyself crying lots but hoping as each day passes it will get easier.

Take care of yourself OP.

So sorry ifonly4. You're very sad and that's understandable. My lovely 20 year old was PTS last year and it was so hard to do, but he was very poorly and I'd fretted long enough about letting him go. I hope all of mine are at Rainbow Bridge, I'll be so happy to see them againSmile

Take care and give yourself, DH & DD time to grieve Flowers

Yep. See my thread. Sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear about your lovely kitties, use and coldlocation. How are you both of you?

Lottie's ashes came back yesterday and I just had tears rolling down my face. I'm doing okay(ish), I just can't believe I've got no cats now. I lost my boy just before my birthday last year and received the usual cat birthday cards, an ornament with his name on and a cushion with both of my two on. I haven't told most of my friends yet, so will undoubtedly have the same thing again this week.
