Do you keep your cat(s) in at night?

Just that really. I do. I just wondered what others do. I would feel very unsettled if mine was out all night.

Mine goes out at night- I got a microchip catflap and locked it but he forced his way out and then couldn’t get in again. I built barriers to the cat flap but he managed to force them all, risking injury to do it, so eventually I decided to just let him come and go as he pleases. He still spends a lot of his time inside overnight but is much more content coming and going as he wants. I am in a quiet area and at the moment the biggest risk to him is from the other neighbourhood cats .... there is a definite turf war going on!

I try to, she usually comes home before bedtime, but if she's still out, I leave a window open for her. It's too narrow for a person to climb through. She usually sleeps in with me, which is an incentive of sorts I think.

Ours have been coming and going as they please but last couple of weeks strange cat has been coming in our house and eating food/fighting our cats so am thinking of keeping ours in at night ... but just wondered what do people do when they go on holiday ? My mum pops in and feeds them but doubt she'd be up to coming twice a day to let them out in morning and in again at nightConfused do people keep their cats in all the time when they go on holiday?

I used to keep mine in at night, for safety reasons. The thing is, one rarely leaves the garden, one never leaves it at all, and they both hate using their (large and clean) litter tray. They still choose to stay in all night though, just nipping out to the loo then back into bed with me until morning.

My cats come in when it's raining or dark - I'm very overprotective
