help pregnant stray!

Please help guys. Yesterday a stray cat wondered in, she's very pregnant. Kitten movements are visible and I can feel them.
Had her checked by emergency vet this am, she is fine although a little skinny apart from huge belly.
I've put notice up and vet has details however have not put that she is pregnant as dp is worried someone may claim her just to sell kittens.
So, I have made a box for her which she is in. She's very friendly with me but not keen on dp.
What the hell do I do now?!

So lovely I wish I had a cat again I hang out here for the cat pics Grin

SoupDragon · 13/05/2018 10:52

Awwwwww.....

EachandEveryone · 13/05/2018 13:35

She is a beautiful little cat.

userxx · 13/05/2018 20:11

She looks such a chilled out mum. Will you keep her?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2018 20:19

Are you keeping her in? They ovulate after mating so she doesn’t need a season to get pg again.

MrsCatE · 13/05/2018 20:25

Great news OP and congrats!!,Good advice from Fluffy.

Beaverhausen · 14/05/2018 10:32

Yep as fluffy has said it can happen within 2 - 4 weeks again.

POPholditdown · 15/05/2018 09:23

Hope they’re doing ok OP. The little kittens look so plump already!

What a lucky kitty mum is to have found you (I too have contemplated quitting work and dedicating my life to catsGrin)

fenneltea · 15/05/2018 16:00

Pleased they have arrived at last, if i were you I'd put them on a waiting list for a good rehoming centre now for them to be homed in about 10 weeks, otherwise you could be stuck with older kittens that are more difficult to home. Plus it's all too easy to get attached to them!

FWIW I did end up leaving work to look after my lot, although there was a horse and dogs as well, but I love it!
I hope mum and kittens are doing well, she looks a sweet little cat.

captainjacksparrow · 17/05/2018 07:56

Hi all, kittens are doing great and are turning into proper little chubsters. We had a trip to vet other day as mum appeared to still have fleas Sad all three have now been checked over and treated. Appointments have also been booked for all three to get spayed/neutered.
I rather think we are on our way to becoming a four cat household Grin however I do have a very close friend who is prepared to take both kittens if I decide it's complete madness to attempt

Oh and mum has not left the bedroom so no chance of further babies!

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/05/2018 07:59

Mum cat might turn against the kittens at around 16 weeks in an effort to get them to move out and fend for themselves.

You'll need a plan on how you'll manage if that happens.

fenneltea · 17/05/2018 08:28

Oh how lovely of you to keep them all, what lucky cats! You can't have too many cats imo. :)

As Fluffy has said, mums can turn on the kittens in some cases, although I don't think it is particularly common, I've only known it to happen once and that was a stressed and hungry rescued cat; the mum cats I've known have always lived happily wih their offspring, but best to be prepared in case. Great that you've got them all booked in for neutering already. Good job!

captainjacksparrow · 17/05/2018 16:27

If mum is unhappy to have them around I have a good friend who is prepared to take both and they will be entered before they leave my home Smile

Spayed not entered Confused

That's great! It's highly likely that you will now be designated cat slave to four felines from now on I think! I find it really hard to rehome anything because I get so attached.

I hope they bring you lots of love and fun; it's lovely to know that three little lives have been saved from the streets, plus the inevitable offspring if they hadn't been rescued.

EachandEveryone · 17/05/2018 19:57

Are they boys or girls?

captainjacksparrow · 18/05/2018 07:49

I believe we have one of each which is nice. Currently called bank loan and overdraft by dp Grin

Aprilmightbemynewname · 18/05/2018 12:48

Back in the 70's when both our cats surprised us with 3 kittens within a week of each other - we kept one from each litter. The dm with a dd weren't close but the dm with a ds cuddled up in a black heap at every chance!.
