So my cat isn't a pet in our house she is like my actual daughter and my daughter calls her her sister! I have just found out I have a grade 5 allergy to cats Sad grade 6 is the highest!

Now I've decided not to let her in my room as most of the time I wake up feeling all stuffy etc! And I feel really mean! My poor little cat is crying outside my room at bedtime! She doesn't like doors being closed and thinks she owns the house so has a right to be in any room she likes Grin

Also she isn't a lap cat and only likes to cuddle upto me when I'm asleep and now I'm really going to miss our cuddles

Anyone else allergic to their cats? Any tips on how to deal with it?

Go to the vets. You can get something for the fur to keep the dander down. Otherwise regular ventolin and becotide Sad

Oh really? I did not know that! Thank you for the tip :)

I am taking anti Histamines everyday but would prefer not to that's why I have been trying not to let her in my room

There used to be these wipes called petal cleanse or something like it. It's the cat saliva that causes the allergic reaction ad they lick themselves all over! The wipes maybe removed the saliva I think, meaning the fur shouldn't cause so much of a problem. That was a few years ago, there may be even better products available now.

Hard floors instead of carpet, minimise soft furnishings as much as possible. Put her cat bed on the landing outside your door. Vacuum daily and keep her brushed. Keep windows open at much as possible. Hope this helps x

You definitely need Petal Cleanse wipes

Petal cleanse is what I meant too. It does help.
