Cat has burnt her paw (Title edited by MNHQ)

My cat has just walked over the electric hob right after me using it. I think it's only one of her paws that she's burnt but she's not letting me close enough to see it. I've just grabbed her in a towel and tried to run her paw under cold water but she's just struggling and getting away. I'm so worried. What do I do? Emergency vets?

Yes I would call the vet, they will offer you advice and may suggest you take her in. Try and keep yourself and kitty calm, keep her quiet and warm,

Mine did this and I put him out on the patio because the slabs were cool. It peeled while it healed.

She's an indoor cat so I can't put her out to cool it unfortunately. She seems to be walking on it fine now and running around playing as usual. I've had a look and it just looks mainly like the fur is burnt rather than the skin. I'm going to monitor her over the next hour or so and if I notice any change I'll call the emergency vets. Thanks for your replies x

I changed our hob to induction when we moved. No more burned paws.

We did the same we we redid the kitchen Fluffy and I wouldn't have anything else now.

I wish I could change it but I'm in a rented apartment at the minute so not an option.

She's absolutely fine today; she's walking on her paw ok and is her usual boisterous self so no lasting damage it seems!
