My cat has an ear infection and is so poorly

He’s only 4. And normally very feisty!

Last week he stopped eating. Vet looked him over but couldn’t see anything, gave him some anti-sickness meds and he perked up a bit.
Monday he was staggering everywhere and holding his head to one side. Back to vets for antibiotics and drops.

Told it would be tricky to treat, but expect to see improvement after a week.

Cat really REALLY thin. Not eaten now since Sunday evening.

First vet told me cats can go into liver failure if no food for 4 days so will call vet again tomorrow.

Is there anything I can do to help him? Or help him eat? He’s not hungry at all. Sniffs at food but turns away. He’s so wobbly, falls everywhere. It’s heartbreaking to watch.

Could you get some Royal Canin recovery milk and syringe feed it? I did it with one of my girls. Though she is very docile, not sure if yours would tolerate it. Or ask for mirtazipine. It's an appetite stimulant.

How is he this morning?.

How is he today?

Thank you for asking!

He disappeared yesterday morning, seemingly to avoid the antibiotic, but I couldn’t help fear that he’d taken himself off to die. I couldn’t find him anywhere.

Came home from work at 6 and he was on the sofa as if nothing had happened. He ate a small amount of dinner and had his antibiotic. I’m guessing he had just been enjoying the sun (we live rurally, vet said he’s fine to be outdoors as no real roads nearby)

He’s still wobbly and thin, but obviously well enough to take himself out. As I speak he’s sat in his ‘ratting corner’ so maybe he feels better?

Hopefully, can his tablets be crushed into food?.

It should be on the information leaflet if it can be.
