Where do you put the cat food if you also have a dog?

Just that really.

The cats are used to having food available for when they fancy it but the dog just eats it if left around.

Have tried the worktop but that's not nice if we want to prepare our food.

Wondered if anyone had any good ideas?

Upstairs landing, we have a dog baby gate.

On the worktop.... we have a utility area, and the cat stuff is up out of the dogs reach!

We feed the cats in the utility, we bought a v cheap table from ikea so the food is out of the dogs reach

Us too - on a worktop in the utility room

My friend had her cat food (for the agile cat) on top of the fridge freezer to stop the other (overweight cat) from getting it.
Used to make me laugh.

I have a cupboard in the hallway, cat food goes on top, litter tray on bottom shelf of cupboard (I leave one door open most of the time), dog towels, coat and spare litter on top shelf, dog leads and bags, etc in drawer. My cat is elderly and starting to struggle to jump up very far, so he also has a step stool beside it to climb up. He gets most annoyed if i’ve borrowed it and comes and meows at me.

It’s a bit cumbersome but there’s nowhere to hide it away in my little house and it looks nicer than the previous plastic tray on the floor, food on a window sill and dog stuff shoved in a box.

Thanks! I'm going to look for a narrow table to tuck in the corner of the kitchen 😀.

My cats eat higher up. They've learnt to eat it when it's there. (which is much better in the summer).

Windowsill for big cat and little cat eats hers on top of the washing basket
