Lost my girl today. So sudden.

She was fine a week ago. Then suddenly she was sick, and today she was put to sleep. She was only four. I can't pull myself together. She was my sweet girl. I am going to miss her so much. I can't believe it. My eyes are stinging from crying and I just want to sleep for a bit but I can't.

So sorry OP, how sad. Share a picture of her if you like.

You know when you take a clock off the wall and realise how often you must look at the clock because you keep glancing at the wall over and over again. It's a bit like that at the moment. I keep noticing all the places she isn't, without ever really realising that I expected her to be there.

She isn't at the window when I drive off for work. She isn't on my bed when I wake up. She isn't trotting down the stairs wondering where her supper is when I get in from swimming. She isn't impatiently waiting for me to settle down with a cup of tea so she can jump onto my knee.

She was so small, but she has left an enormous hole where she isn't.

Our boy cat has noticed she's gone and is a bit confused. I keep finding him in unusual places. They weren't besties, but he's known her since he was 4 weeks old.

I know, it's one of the worst feelings. I thought I heard my little kitty the other day. My other cat has taken to sitting in his favourite spot, which is lovely to see. You do wonder if they miss them as well. Take care of yourself Flowers

So so sorry OP, that just sounds unbelievably traumatic. How very awful. 🌺💐.....especially as she was young. Our dog died suddenly in Jan...he was only 10 and had been in fine fettle. All over in just 24 hrs....an undiagnosed mass / tumour on his lung.

From my experience, I know you are upset but I would try and get some answers from the vet as soon as you can. It won't bring them back, but in time it does help you rationalise why it happened and how there was little that could have been done. Thoughts are with you. X,

So sorry, OP. We absolutely know how your're feeling. Our 3 year old boy was recently off his food, I posted on Mumsnet for ideas of what to do. He went downhill so quickly and was losing weight that we took him to the vet and was diagnosed with a massive tumour so we had to have him put to sleep last Thursday. We're both devastated, as you say they leave such a hole in one's life and you expect to see them everywhere. He was a talkative Burmese cross, and we miss his lovely chirruping and squeaking. Such a lovely nature too.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

So sorry for all who have lost cats recently.
Please consider adopting a cat/kitten when you feel you are able to do so.
