That Henry is telling me he's got something that used to be a mouse but is now just the memory of a damp squeak. I can't bear to go and look ....

...trouble. Good luck with the investigation!

Ernie, according to OH was trying to have a big frog (described as big as Ern's head)

He seems to love hunting frogs Sad

It's a very very very small mouse! A bit damp but ok. Now off across the road. Henry looking very pleased with himself!
Why can't I attach pics from my gallery?

I don't own a cat myself but the local cats like me. One little treasure decided to bring me a mouse one night, he was yowling at the back door eager to show me my gift, as soon as I saw what it was i closed the door and left him to it. The next morning there was cat puke all over my patio with bits of dead mouse in it.

user That'll teach yer. 😼 You were supposed to show your gratitude.

IlPorcupinoNilSodomyEst · 10/03/2018 23:08

Ha! When a cat brings you a present you have to thank them effusively, otherwise they will bring you presents forever more!

I enjoy having a cat who only goes on the roof. Can't catch anything there!

userxx · 10/03/2018 23:28

There's where I went wrong wasn't it, I didn't tell him what a clever boy he was. Noted for next time. The thought still turns my stomach.

I was staying with my nan a few years ago, and we took in a stray tom (my number 1 boy now).
He brought my nan gifts on a couple of occasions, and as my nan is partially blind bless her, she started chucking the mouse around the house, thinking it was one of the cat toys Envy (think it was dead before that anyway, sadly).
She screamed when she realised.

Springtrolls · 10/03/2018 23:47

I know I shouldn't. But I laughed at that IntoTheFloodAgain

Sneaky - off topic but I just had to rescue D(ick)Cat off the roof. Neighbour and I stood on the front path, both on ladders, trying to pull the squawking feline down. Police drove past 3 times and didn't question why 2 women in pyjamas were on ladders at 11pm on a Saturday night..... Good point about them being unable to bring presents from there though!

Oldraver · 11/03/2018 15:41

Hmmmm Ern has just learnt how to get on th garage roof..it's only a short hop to the house roof (bungalow height)..

He knows there are birds in the roof a he glares at the popping out from the gutter as he is on the bedroom windowsill.

I think he will tumble off before he actually manages to get to a bird

I’ve been away for a week and got home today. Yesterday morning the cat sitter found a dead shrew on the patio beside the cat flap and today it was a dead starling. I’m slightly afraid of what I’ll find tomorrow morning......I’m thinking of putting a cow bell around his neck to give the local wildlife a bit more of a chance🙀
