... and I am totally smitten.

She is 8 years old, tabby and white, super friendly and just gorgeous.

I've been scouring rescue centres since Christmas and Cats Protection found me this little love straight from her previous home. Picked her up tonight and she has made herself right at home in the pantry Grin . She and the dog are eyeballing each other from opposite ends of the kitchen but DS and I have had lots of lovely fluffy cuddles and fussing.

I'm in love!

Limon could you have an indoor cat as suggested above? Cats Protection seemed to have lots of 'indoor only' cats available

Sadly the issue is that I rent, and it's not a very large flat. Landlord wouldn't allow it and I feel even if there are shelter cats who need to be kept indoors (I disagree with it on principle with any other cats) I don't feel I have enough space to offer them :'(

So it's a no go until such a time as I can either rent a house with a cool landlord or buy!

viccat · 03/03/2018 20:49

LimonViola Oh yes you can! Not only special needs cats but lots of cats who've always lived indoors and are not safe to introduce to the outdoors at an older age. Or a calm senior kitty. It's worth contacting rescues directly - our charity has a waiting list of people wanting to adopt indoor cats so when one comes in, we usually don't even advertise anywhere, we contact people on the waiting list first.

Your new mistress looks thoroughly at home already - mistress of all she surveys!

LimonViola · 03/03/2018 20:50

Thanks viccat 💛

I'd never thought about homing an indoor only senior cat until this thread, so thank you all! It's give me a lot to think about for the future!

PestoSurfissimos · 03/03/2018 21:06

Limonviola, can you ask your landlord?
I’m a landlord with a ‘no pets’policy, but sometimes I will allow a cat if asked nicely Smile

PestoSurfissimos · 03/03/2018 21:07

And, I have previously lived in a flat with an indoors only cat, and it worked ok.

LimonViola · 03/03/2018 21:08

Small flat pesto :(

Wouldn't be fair on the cat to just have a few small rooms to wander around in. And given that most landlords are absolutely no on animals it also means you're stuck moving to somewhere new also!

PestoSurfissimos · 03/03/2018 21:23

Aw, don’t give up hope LimonViola

She’s settled herself right in! Adores my little boy and has touched noses with the dog. She’s rather too keen on my cupboard tops but what can you do eh?

That pic on the worktop with her paws crossed! Clearly she is queen of her new home!
