Best place for cheap wood pellet litter (that ideally delivers)

This really.
We prefer the wood pellet litter as opposed to the gravel type stuff but for some reason it's getting quite difficult to find and/or expensive.
Any suggestions please?

I feel your pain!! My cat only 'goes' on wooden litter and for some unknown reason the supermarket shelves are frequently empty! Don't know if it helps but I recently found a massive bag of it at pets at home for about six pounds? Don't know how long that price will be held for though.

Zooplus/bitiba?

Poppins2016 · 02/03/2018 18:15

We buy from Sainsbury's - the shelves are usually full and/or they have a good track record for being in stock for delivery.

Wilko?

Bit random but I know at least 2 rescues who use wood pellets for burners. Companies like coals2u but you have to buy in bulk.

There's been a nationwide shortage of wood pellet of all types for months now - something to do with weather conditions in the countries where it's produced, and the Brexit effect on prices...

I've found Amazon and Pets at Home the most reliable sources recently.

We get it from Fetch. We’ve found them to be cheaper than pets at home and similar to zoo plus. Only makes sense if you use Ocado mind you.

Madbengalmum · 02/03/2018 18:53

There was also a fire at one of the producers. Pets at home 30l was £5.50 ish but due to shortage has gone up to £7.99 a bag, still about the cheapest around though and they deliver.

SimonBridges · 02/03/2018 18:55

I was going to say Fetch.
However they were out too for this weeks Ocado delivery so we are having to try something else!
I do think she’ll mind too much.

Allergictoironing · 02/03/2018 19:40

I get mine from Pets at Home. They usually do an offer on 3 ginormous bags so I lay in months worth at a time (have a small conservatory that's just used for storage thank goodness). If i order some food at the same time, I get free delivery too Grin

Try heating fuel suppliers. It's sold for wood fired boilers and ovens. Much cheaper than when sold as litter, but you may need to buy in bulk!

CrumblungUnderHobnobCrumbs · 03/03/2018 17:09

Thanks everyone.
It is strangely reassuring that it's not just us having this issue! Will check them out. We've ordered litter from Ocado before but it's been expensive recently.
She's not too fussy luckily. Although the gravel stuff we have at the moment is turning her paws orange! Hmm

It is no longer cheaper to buy at heating pellet suppliers, at one point if you bought a tonne pallet each bag of 30 ltrs worked out at around £7.50 now pets at home have 30ltrs for £6.99. Not worth buying in bulk and storing.

Madbengalmum · 03/03/2018 17:15

Ocado looks expensive compared to pets at home. Ocado bags are half the size for same money.

Olliver27 · 05/03/2018 04:01

We use this one for the cats who don't like the silica 'pearls'. The cheaper wood pellet litters make my cats (and me) sneeze.
