Clearly posting on mumsnet was all she needed for her to get a move on! 2 kittens born so far, she's doing so well at cleaning them and dealing with their cords.

Forgot to show off the little runt having a feed with his sisters.

Fabulous.

CatchingBabies · 05/03/2018 15:20

Well poorly kitten is no longer poorly kitten and is doing great! Gaining weight and feeding well. Still having a couple of top ups as he's smaller than his sisters. A few little hints of colour are appearing on their ears and they all look blue so far, will be able to tell more as they grow. Don't want to go to work tomorrow and leave them, my partner is with them but even so how will I cope without watching them for hours!

Delighted they're getting stronger.
Aren't they just little sugar plums. Couldn't you just put them on a butty and eat them.

EachandEveryone · 05/03/2018 15:29

Can you tell the sex at this stage? I never knew that

Emelene · 05/03/2018 15:36

Gorgeous kittens OP! Well done to mummy cat and you!

CatchingBabies · 05/03/2018 16:54

Yes you can tell the sex from birth, although sometimes you get it wrong. We started with 3 girls and 2 boys and lost a boy.

Are you sure you don't have a spare one?
Joke, I already have four but omg I miss having kittens, my cat had two litters and it was the loveliest thing to watch.

CatchingBabies · 05/03/2018 18:47

This is our first litter and it's bliss so I don't know how I will let them go. We were hoping for a lilac to keep back, they all look blue to me so if so we are not planning on keeping one. However that may well change as I really really want one! But then we will have 3 cats and still won't have the lilac we want so will end up keeping a lilac and that makes 4, of we get a lilac in the next litter. We could end up never getting one and keeping one from every litter at this rate! All my breeding research and training and I didn't consider how hard it would be to let ANY of them go!

Our first litter, we rehomed two of four, the second all five and that was hard.
I'm in touch with all the new owners though.

CatchingBabies · 05/03/2018 20:42

Yes that will help, all people lined up as new owners are people known to me so at least I will still keep in touch.

I suppose itd be like letting your GCs go really. At least they're going to people you know and you know they'll be well looked after.

CatchingBabies · 14/03/2018 11:31

Little update for you.

They are 2 weeks old today, all gaining weight really well and becoming more active. The biggest one now has her eyes open so I'm sure the others will soon follow suit. Mummy cat continues to do a great job!

Love them little cutie pies.

Can they walk, yet

Papergirl1968 · 14/03/2018 13:33

Super cute! How’s the little hand fed one doing?

CatchingBabies · 14/03/2018 14:09

They can crawl and wiggle around but not yet on their feet. That will be another week or so.

The little hand fed one is doing amazing. He's back with his sisters and no longer being hand fed. We were topping him up after mummy fed him initially and once he started to gain weight slowly reduced the amount to nothing. He's continued making good weight gain so has clearly learnt how to fight the girls off for a nipple now. He's still the smallest but doing very very well.

He has the purple collar on in the photo.

oh so in another week is when the trouble will start.Grin

CatchingBabies · 14/03/2018 19:11

Yep! They are in my daughters wardrobe now as that is where mummy wants them. They will have to move somewhere safer once they start escaping which won't be long. Then by 4-5 weeks they come downstairs and have the run of the living room and climb my curtains! Lots of fun 😁

Awww, your poor daughter's clothes!
The first time my cat gave birth it was on my Daughter's bed, when she was asleep in it!
Dd held her paw throughout, the duvet and mattress didn't survive though.

Papergirl1968 · 14/03/2018 20:21

Really pleased to hear the little lad is doing so well! Smile

CatchingBabies · 14/03/2018 20:23

Thankfully the clothes are ok, they are all hung up anyway and she gave birth in my room on puppy pads so there wasn't any mess afterwards. I think she likes my daughters wardrobe as it's the biggest one being built in and is dark and cosy. DD is particularly happy to have kittens in her room to be fair, lets see how long that lasts once they are climbing her legs 😂😂

Little update for you. The kittens are 3 weeks old tomorrow, time has flown! They've all got their eyes and ears open and are looking like the stunning kittens they are rather than tiny mice. We've got 2 blue points, 1 blue lynx point and 1 blue lynx mitted. Not the lilac we hoped for but we are hoping to keep back one of the lynx kittens depending on how their markings develop.

The biggest kitten is a little terror and has learnt how to escape from mummy which is hilarious to watch! Tiny kitten has gone from strength to strength and is now solely feeding from mummy and gaining weight. He is the one in the second picture.

Another week and it will be time for a move. They will be coming downstairs for their first tastes of food, getting used to a litter tray and socialising with the rest of the family. Small periods at first and slowly build it up so they grow in confidence. Can't wait!

Argh, I want them all! They’re stunning, as is Mum

Jonsnowsghost · 20/03/2018 11:48

Argh I want one!! I'd love a lynx point, my ragdoll is a grump though and doesn't like other cats! I don't think he knows he's a ragdoll..

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/03/2018 11:51

Oh they are all adorable!

Thank you for updating!
