How much food for a cat - what food

Just wondering what people feed their cats and how often
Ours has a small amount of dried biscuits available all the time
Wet pouch morning
Half pouch at 4
Remainder of pouch at 11 before bed

However she is waking us up hungry during the night (there are a small amount of biscuits available though)

We were over feeding her before Xmas and this was causing her to vomit so want to avoid that but equally don't want her hungry all the time .

She's a smallish cat

I go by the directions on the box.

For my 5kg ish cat that's two pouches plus about 30g biscuits per day. We give him the pouches at about 8.30am and 4.30pm, and the biscuits at lunchtime and evening if he asks.

When we didn't measure the biscuits and just put them out as and when, he put masses of weight on so no we're careful to measure. And if he's given any leftovers (e.g. bits off a roast chicken when I strip it) then no biscuits at all.

Should add: he can go out when he wants during daylight hours so if he's starving he helps the next door farmer with his rabbit problem ...

Hills science plan dry food only, two helpings a day, anything else and she caterwauls the house down.

Our two 5kg ish boys have a two 1/4 cup scoops of Hills Oral Care dry food in the morning which they eat throughout the day, and then one 70g tin of Thrive complete each in the evening

If there's food out then she's not hungry, she just wants her favourite stuff! My kids also try to refuse dinner but are desperately hungry for treats at bedtime.

Ours appear to have an all inclusive agreement here at weekends!

However, when we are at work it's generally two pouches (morning and evening) and biscuits to graze on throughout the day. Large bowl of water available in several parts of the house!

Raw beef 2/3 times a week (this is what they want all day, every day though!)

Now flit between Lily's Kitchen biscuits, Whiskas and Felix

18yr old and a 1 yr old. the only thing I can say with certainty is the old one eats all her raw food...I suspect the kitten is eating her share of the other!

I always had dry food available to mine (tbh whatever's on offer) and they graze throughout the day and night. They have 1 85g wet pouch between them in the morning and an 85g pouch each in the evening. Sometimes they get some treat sticks of an evening but not often. They don't gorge on fresh biscuits so I don't think they're starving. They're both a good weight for their size (small female moggies).

One of them was a stray and will try to take anything you're eating given half a chance but I think that's habit due to her earlier life (one I had PTS in July was a stray and exactly the same). She's also still growing and spends half her life galloping around like a mad thing so is probably hungrier than the other one. They're primarily house cats who go out a couple of times a day so not roaming a lot and I would think this makes a difference to how much they eat

3kg adult female, indoor cat.

Dry food down all day, I don't measure it as she has always been great at self regulating.

1 pouch a day, split between breakfast and dinner time.

She's always been within 500g of 3kg.

I have an indoor tripod. Not sure of her weight, but need to keep her trim . She gets 1 Felix pouch at 5am, 15g of Purina one biscuits at 4pm, and 15g Purina again at around 9pm.

She will also mug any human eating fish, ham and chicken so she gets small amounts a few times a week. Rarely she'll have Dreamies etc, she prefers ham!

We have two and they have a tin of food between them in the morning and a tin in the evening. There is always a handful of biscuits too to graze on.

They still go out and rip the heads off baby squirrels to snack on.

Depends what the food is... Two of the cats in our house are fed felix as good as it looks as and when they ask for it and constantly scavenging and begging, the other two are fed natures menu and applaws (far higher meat content) and are happy with twice a day!

My cat is huge (big but lean not fat, just hugely long) and eats a carton of bozita a day and that's it. Half in the morning and half at night. He's always on the scrounge but that's just him.

One medium sized girl, one largish boy, indoors only cats. They have half a pouch of Felix AGAIL in the mornings between them & a pouch in the evenings between them, and Royal Canin Indoor Cat dry ad lib (with the occasional serving of the anti-hairball for variety). Either a single Webbox Stick or a single portion of Lik e lix between them when I get in from work.

They are possibly a tiny bit overweight but not much, though I think that's more saggy tummies due to not going out rather than fat. And they do get a few too many Dreamies!
