Dark cat urine and weeing on towels - bladder infection

My Boy Cat has always been free and easy with weeing outside the litter tray and we've taken him to the vet a few times who said it was behavioural. We've tried Feliway, he has two litter trays but he still does it. Lately it's hugely stepped up, he's weeing on towels, even jumping up to get them. We've just moved house so we thought it might be that, but I saw some on the floor and it was very dark brown. Does this suggest a urine infection?

It certainly suggests something not right. Are you sure he is doing a full bladder full of wee and not just drips here and there? If he's just doing drips he needs an emergency vet now. If he's doing full bladder wees of very dark urine then he needs a vet appointment this week, but not an emergency. I can't speculate as to what it could be, but it needs checking out.

Oh yes he's soaking it, it's definitely a full bladder.
