Indestructible cat fishing rods/toys?

We've had two very energetic 2 yo adopted cats who don't really want to go outside for about 6 weeks now. We've gone through about 1 rod a week so far, since they play rough and like chewing and generally fucking our shit up, the little sods darlings (chewed through 2 Mac chargers so far, DH was most unimpressed). So, wise Mumsnetters, is there such a things as a cat-proof cat rod or am I doomed to treading on splinters of wood or fibreglass every morning for the next 20 years?

They have a cat tree, loads of indoor space to run about in, multiple other forms of toys but the rods are their absolute favourite. Any other suggestions for entertaining them and/or stopping them ruining our expensive stuff most welcome Grin

I have a rather active one year old cat.

We've had her for 7 weeks and she likes the extendable 'da bird' rods.

She snapped the thin end of the first rod within three weeks (from trying to drag it around corners) but we kept the unbroken parts of it and then used them as spares for when the second rod broke.

We now keep a 'working rod' and a spare rod, along with various attachments.

These are really good:

Hi Madeleine, I bought my two a Frankie the frog Beco wand toy on Amazon - they seem to like it a lot and so far it's been pretty hard wearing!

Another vote for Purrs in our Hearts, they have an incredible number of additional toys to clip onto the fishing rod - my cat loves the Ratatouille rat so much that he carries it around in his mouth everywhere (minus the rod!)

I've given up on indestructible and gone for cheap: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S4HRZJK/?tag=mumsnetforum-21 43p a go, last for about a month with mending.

Thanks everyone, I've ordered one of the Purrs ones, let's see how it goes with my two little monsters!
