How many poos does your cat do per day?

Apparently there is a poo troll on here, promise I'm not it!

Mine does about 4. I'm not sure if she gets too much food (she would beg to differ)

My cat’s poo doesn’t stink out the place in the way you’re describing. She buries her poo and when I start scooping the litter I can’t smell whether there is poo in there or just wee until I unearth it. I can only tell it’s been used because of the mounds.

Is the food grain-free? When mine was eating whiskas food (that’s what she was eating at the shelter) her poo stank to high heaven but since she’s been on a better diet she’s less smelly and poos less often.

betgilroy · 19/01/2018 20:19

usually 1 poo each per day
sometimes 2
2, sometimes 3 wee's each per day
i can always tell when my little girl cat needs a poo - she gets really giddy and bombs around the house at high speed doing funny miaows.

You need to get prices open window diffusers. Are you putting the poo in a nappy sack and chucking it as soon as posdible? Also get a good cat litter like Worlds Best. Stop with the grains if you can. Buy the best you can afford. Are you opening windows? How high up are you?

One massive poo a day...

BulletFox · 21/01/2018 20:25

I'll go to the petshop tomorrow & get grain free. None of the shops around here do it.

Hopefully we'll have better deposits then!!

If you're on a tight budget, Zooplus always has offers and bargains, or for wet food Butchers Classic is cheap and grain free.

BulletFox · 21/01/2018 21:20

Snails yes on a budget, I thought I was getting her quality wet food (she only likes terrine/flakes in jelly so I buy sheba or co-op terrine) though I was aware the bikkies were standard.

Unfortunately i don't eat meat so cant share chicken with her. I guess i could get her some chicken breast.

Oh dear I'll have to examine ingredients on the wet food

OP posts:
HardAsSnails · 21/01/2018 21:26

Chicken breast isn't a substitute for proper cat food as it won't have the right balance of nutrients like taurine, it would be ridiculouy expensive too. I would definitely try the Butchers tins (I'm just about to move my old cat onto them) as they are super cheap but very good quality.

The grain free dry foods seem really expensive but because they are nutritionally denser and more calorific she will need less.

BulletFox · 21/01/2018 21:39

Thanks Snails, I'll look into it tomorrow!

One poo a day. She's 12 and very much a house cat (terrified of outdoors since she got lost 2 years ago in a garden 5 houses away 🤦🏻‍♀️). She's never been a big eater and only has science plan dry food (wet food makes her vomit).

BulletFox · 21/01/2018 22:10

I'm so jealous of all you one-pooers :(

This is how she spend her day when not pooping...

I've been giving Leroy Royal Canin Digestive Care since a dodgy tum incident. 1 poo a day now 💩.

BatFaceGal · 21/01/2018 23:50

People always over feed cats. They don't need 3 terrines a day and 2 bowls of biscuits!

Mine has one terrine a day and one bowl of high quality dried food. A small ish bowl at that. Plenty of fresh water daily. She is a smidge under 4kg and perfectly healthy. Not thin.

Don't give cat milk and reduce the food. May help . I don't know how many tones kine poos though I'm afraid as we don't have a litter tray, she goes out

Weedsnseeds1 · 21/01/2018 23:52

I don't really know as he goes outside.
He goes out several times a day, but I don't know if it always involves a poo. He is a bit of a serial killer, so excursions could be focused on his hobby, not his bowels!

BulletFox · 22/01/2018 00:06

BatFacedGal but they're so demanding.

They act like they're being starved. It's the RSPCA demanding howl of pain.

Ok I'm on a mission this week to sort out her food.

OP posts:
BatFaceGal · 22/01/2018 10:57

Ah yes, they're certainly demanding! I just pop mine elsewhere if she gets too annoying. I also only feed once a day - so every morning there will be fresh water, fresh biscuits and a fresh pouch or terrine and that's it. She will come back to the biscuits later in the day.
