Honestly, she is such a beautiful soul.
We found her screaming under a bin in Turkey. She was about 10 days old with had a horrid infected injury on her face and she was covered in blood, pus and flies. Mum had 4 other kittens not far away but she wasn't coming back for our girl. I took her to the local vet to ask them to put her to sleep - it seemed kinder than starving to death in the heat. They cleaned her up and offered to try her on antibiotics. Turns out she was a fighter. I drip fed her at first and kept her clean until she was big enough to risk an operation on her face. She ended up losing the eye.
5 years later and thousands of miles from where we found her, i am grateful every day that she screamed at me. She is so sweet and loving. She is like a calming little zen cat. She is timid and scrawny and nervous of people she doesn't know, but she loves us fiercely. When one of the children are unwell she doesn't leave their side.
I can't describe how much joy i get from seeing her lounging in the sun, or mewing crossly because I'm late with her dinner.
