this is Jacky. he is almost 10 months and GIGANTOR. we thought he was a black cat but no, he is not. he is a rich, chocolatey brown.

so i googled about a bit and discovered that brown cats are pretty uncommon. we think Jacky is a Havana Brown. his paw pads and nose leather are brown, as are his whiskers. he has oblique-set eyes, a glossy chestnut coat and is a proper homebody.

i’m not showing off. we are just a bit boggled that we seem to have rescued a rare breed! anyone else got one of these?

He’s totally gorgeous and looks like my 7 month old boy, he’s very dark brown and a chatty boy too.

he’s awesome whatever he is. what he mainly is, is a proper doofus.

He's very beautiful.
A lot of black cats have a recessive gene for colour, so they " rust" particularly in the sun. Can't remember the details, but easily googled ( B Vs b colour gene or something) also linked to tabby being the default/ dominant gene.

his eyes are bitter lemon colour. when he’s particularly happy he squinches them up but he’s generally always up for a staring contest.
