Help . Any advice on how to cat poo residue from cream carpet ?

Poor cat ,recent surgery to eyelids ,collar on .

Pooed overnight on lounge carpet - caught short ,result of antibiotics ? walked it all over the place so lots of areas .

Quite sticky residue .

What to do ??? I've never found a good carpet cleaner even for normal stains

I'm afraid I don't know. Cream carpets are always a disaster waiting to happen aren't they? Can't you use this as an excuse to get rid of them? (the carpets, not the cats).

It's the newest carpet we have ,only 18months down .

All I can think of to say to that is 'what were you thinking?!'

I hope your cat is recovering well. Did he have entropion?

Yes ,entropion .

I'm really not sure how he is .Vet said to give him a break and take collar off for short periods and watch him so that he doesn't rub his eyes .

He seems ok with the collar on ,not trying to get it off ,purring lots when you come near him .Normal for him ,he's very purry .

But when I take it off he goes into a frenzy of grooming ,soaking his coat with licking ,biting his claws . I'm worried about him - what do you think ?

I use vanish pink spray, on clothes, pre washing, and cream carpets!!

It doesn't sound particularly worrying. It sounds more like a reaction to being free and making the most of it. We don't put collars on cats that have entropion ops, but if he's tolerating it ok then carry on.

He's very lucky that you've had the op done. It's an extremely painful condition that usually leads to blindness, and he should be fine now.

Sorry about your carpet but really, it was only a matter of time, I'm amazed they remained unscathed for 18 months.

Why don't you put collars on them ? I'm desperate to take his off .It's pitiful watching him trying to navigate the stairs and bumping into things .

His op was on Thurday ,do you think I could set him free ?

We don't put collars on as a matter of course much at all. Cats hate them so much and most of the time they're fine without them. You do have to see if your cat tries to paw at the eyes a lot I suppose. But at least on the eyes he can't chew at the stitches.

update - very good progress made on carpet .
applied baking powder and hovered off several times

much dabbing and blotting with cold soloution of an oxyclean stain remover for clothes and cold water .

still on going .

took collar off cat again this afternoon ,fingers crossed he leaves his eyes alone and that it can stay off .

PS carpet is more of a flecked oatmeal than cream .
