Our cat has been missing now for a few days. We are out looking every night. I just can't bear the thought of never seeing him again.

So i have emptied the Hoover bag on the lawn
I have hung his favourite blanket on the line
Its a week today - I want my beautiful boy home

Apparantly there has been a sighting a few estates away but what if he can't find his way home

OP posts:
PosiePootlePerkins · 08/10/2017 14:30

A sighting is hopeful, can you go with food and his box, just in case, and have a drive round? Shake some biscuits and call for him? Don't give up hope. Cats come home after weeks away.

McBounty · 09/10/2017 01:03

I hope he is found OP

FeedMyFaceWithPeanutButterCups · 09/10/2017 01:14

My sisters cat was missing for five weeks op and then one day he came back!

LavenderDoll · 09/10/2017 20:21

Thanks everyone for being kind. I think I'm using this as a way of getting out how I feel as I'm trying to stay strong for the DC
Today we thought we saw him crossing the road near to us.. I'm 95% sure it was him but by the time DH had run out he had gone. We then had a call from someone who thought he was In their garden but by the time we got there he had gone again.

I'm holding out hope he is just being a little explorer but can't understand why he isn't coming when we call.

We also left food out and that has all gone and there are little paw marks on the patio. But obviously that could be any passing cat .

Thanks for letting me ramble. It's funny I never realised just how much of a cat lady I was until he arrived in our lives. I loved waking up to him patting my face and cuddling up for morning cuddles. He is a very special boy

That's really positive that he's been spotted around and about, sounds as if he's having a great adventure! I wouldn't be surprised if he makes his way back to you soon, keep leaving litter/blanket etc out to help him find his way home.

LavenderDoll · 10/10/2017 06:57

Another day
I'm so frustrated we normally work from home but these last 2 week's we have had to go into work and even though it's unlikely I worry he's been home and wondered where we are.
Anyway off to wake up DC for school

OP posts:
EachandEveryone · 10/10/2017 18:06

Its all sounding positive though. Do you think hes got abit confused? How near was he spotted?

LavenderDoll · 10/10/2017 19:39

Literally a minute up the road
Just been out and will go out again later

Our boy was gone a week this as before DCs I walked the streets calling his name and then he strolled in Grin

LavenderDoll · 10/10/2017 22:32

Our neighbour just rang to say she had seen him and called him and he answered to his name. She lives next door and spends a lot of time with him in with the garden so pretty sure If she thinks it's him it's him
He ran off from her as cars startled him
She called DH and has gone on the hunt... She spotted him 5 mins away

Poor boy hope he's ok. He was abandoned as a baby and had a shocking start to life so hope he hasn't got all confused and thinks he's a stray again

Fingers crossed for you OP Flowers

EachandEveryone · 10/10/2017 22:45

So near! Can you borrow a trap to put in your neighbours garden?

LavenderDoll · 10/10/2017 23:16

Well DH turned up with a cat.... it was similar to ours but way to fluffy ours was very sleek
So he's now returning the cat where he found it
Seriously we have morphed into crazy cat people - I can't believe we are inspecting random cats late at night

People have mentioned traps
Think I'm going to have to look into it.

OP posts:
PosiePootlePerkins · 11/10/2017 06:30

Oh what a shame. The good news is that people are on the look out. Can't remember if you've put posters up? One in the vets is a good idea. Cats Protection website have a template you can use.

LavenderDoll · 11/10/2017 17:14

We are putting a few more posters up tonight.
Still no sign Sad

I have found from past experience that people are really kind and want to help when a cat is missing.

So was the at your neighbour saw definitely your cat or the one your DH brought home?

Really hope your puss turns up soon x

LavenderDoll · 11/10/2017 18:10

Neighbour pretty sure it was ours - I Had a quick chat with her before
I suppose though at night all black cats look the same

SpadesOfGlory · 11/10/2017 20:43

Aww OP it's the worst feeling in the world. I really hope your boy comes home soon.

My year old ginger boy loves it outside but usually always comes back about 9pm and curls up inside for the night. About a month ago he stayed out for 3.5 days through a storm!! I was frantic, it was so unlike him. My DH told me after he feared the worst...but he came home eventually, a bit dusty and pretty hungry but totally fine! He's gone back to his usual pattern since that.

I swear he has no idea of the stress he puts me through when he's out having a great time exploring! Grin

LavenderDoll · 11/10/2017 23:08

Away to bed - last search of the evening done
Hope he is safe and warm
My beautiful boy

MsMims · 12/10/2017 01:04

Oh Lavender Flowers

So hoping you have him home again soon. Keep on with door knocking if you can just incase your neighbour was mistaken and he's still trapped somewhere. All fingers crossed here for you and your boy.
