Tom cat sitting outside our cat flap, how Can I keep him away?

My neutered male cat has had a few run ins with this cat who’s new in the neighbourhood.

4 days ago he bit my cat on his leg quite badly left several puncture wounds and a claw stuck beside his eye. Took him to the vets and he’s doing much better and no longer limping.

This evening I heard my cat yowling I came downstairs to find this tom cat parked outside the cat flap. I opened the door and threw water at him but he was too quick and I missed.

We have fencing but I don’t know how else to keep the cheeky bugger away from our garden. My very outdoorsy cat now won’t go out. Any advice please?

Is it a microchip cat flap?

I had similar problem and water and a microchip cat flap helped. Tom is still about be very infrequently.

Chase him away, every time. Be scary, have a water pistol /filled cup all ready.
Put noisy things - rusty carrier bags etc - there?

Smells - maybe sprinkle Olbas oil or peppermint oil about, ad cats hate that. Or, er, spray human wee around if you're dedicated to the cause...

We have a microchip cat flap, my poor cat can’t get in quick enough and gets roughed up in the doorway. I’ve chased him with water, banged and broken a broom nothing keeps that bastard away from my garden or the cat flap, he has a serious f you attitude!

I’ll ask dh to wee over the gardenGrin

I hiss at the Tom in my area. Apparently i hiss very aggressively: my children tell me off for scaring the Tom Smile

Yep. That'll sort it. Best not get things mix up though.
