Will the kitten smell different after being neutered?

... not to me, obviously! Our 5 month old kitten is going for the snip today. After quite a tough period of adapting, our older (4 year old) cat now seems pretty keen on him - they groom each other, sleep in the same space and when we isolated Kitten last night so that he didn't eat before the operation (as advised by vet) Big Cat wouldn't shift from outside the room we'd put Kitten in. Just wondering whether we should expect a period of regression/readjustment after the op? Will it make Kitten smell weird to Big Cat? We're so happy that they're now friends - the period where Big Cat made it clear that he was horrified and that we had ruined his life wasn't a fun one!

It may well make him smell different. When my boy has anything done at the vets he has a 'medical' smell about him.

I'm sure it won't take long for things to get back to normal.

Thanks! They seem to be fine, thankfully. I think I was just being a bit Precious Second Cat about the operation!

Daft idea. Run a blanket from home over him to run off the vet smell.
Feliway for both at home to keep things calm?

Rub off the vet smell I mean.
